Southwest monsoon activates, rain experience in several areas
The Department of Meteorology stated that Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces could experience intermittent rain as the Southwest monsoon has been activated in the island.
The Department also stated that strong wind could also develop along with rain in these areas.
It stated that wind speed could increase from 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in the coastal areas from Galle to Pottuwil via Hambantota and from Colombo to Mullaitivu via Mannar and Kankasanturai.
