Sri Siddhartha Gautama bags five awards at World Buddhist Film Festival

The film Sri Siddhartha Gauthama has won five awards at the World Buddhist Film Festival in Vietnam. The awards ceremony was held in Vietnam on Thursday evening.
The World Buddhist Film Festival was organised by the United Nations in line with the Vesak Festival.
Sri Siddhartha Gautama bagged the awards for best film, best director, best editing, best music direction and best actor – surpassing films that had been put forward by countries including Korea, Vietnam, Japan and Thailand.
The award for best director went to Saman Weeraman while Gagan Malik won the award for best actor for his portrayal of Prince Siddhartha.
Pradeep Ratnayake won the award for best music direction while Praveen Jayaratne won the award for best editing.
Incidentally, Sri Siddhartha Gautama also won the award for best film at the recent, New Delhi International Film Festival.
